Patricia is a Technical Adviser supporting African cities to identify and implement climate actions as part of a regional sectoral programme on solid waste management to reduce methane emissions. She supports city teams through training, cross-city knowledge sharing, technical advice, and one-on-one support to design relevant sectoral actions, help identify and exploit opportunities, and overcome barriers to delivery.
Before joining C40, Patricia was a Chief Environment Officer at the Nairobi City County Government. She was responsible for the circular economy transition led by the National Ministry of Environment and Forestry, championed the Waste Wise Cities Campaign by UN-Habitat and environmental safeguarding of the Kenya Integrated Slum Improvement Project by the World Bank as well as the Urban Fabric Initiative by the French Development Agency.
She represented Nairobi in various professional networks, including the Connective Cities platform, African Clean Cities Platform, African Circular Economy Network, ICLEI- Africa Circular Cities Initiative and the Ellen MacArthur Foundation Community.
Patricia has also consulted on waste management with Aranca UK Ltd. and Roland Berger.
Previously, she was the project coordinator at the JICA Study Team on Nairobi’s ISWM.
She has extensive experience in climate action and sustainable waste management.
Patricia holds a BSc. in Environmental Health from Moi University and an MSc. in Health Systems Management from Kenya Methodist University. She is also a DANIDA fellow in Water Sector Governance and Operations from Denmark Technical University and Copenhagen University.
Patricia is based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Paul Cartwright serves as Programme Manager for New Building Efficiency. Paul is responsible for managing the New Building Efficiency Network supporting cities to accelerate actions to improve energy efficiency and achieve net zero carbon for new buildings, as well as managing technical assistance programmes, including the C40 South Africa Buildings Programme. Prior to joining C40, Paul was a Principal Consultant at BRE (Building Research Establishment), a building research and consultancy organisation in the UK. Paul led a multi-disciplinary team of sustainable building professionals delivering applied research and consultancy projects focused on improving the performance of buildings for both public and private sector organisations. Paul took key roles in delivering a number of building performance innovation projects including working with industry, public sector and academic partners to develop solutions for scaling-up the delivery of low carbon housing. He holds a Bachelors degree in Geography and International Relations from Lancaster University and a Masters degree in Urban Development Planning from University College London.

Paula serves as City Adviser for Medellín, Colombia, as part of C40’s UCAP Climate Action Implementation (CAI) Programme.
Prior to joining C40, Paula worked in the public administration for Medellín City as an Environmental Engineer in the Environment Secretary, working to coordinate International cooperation. Previously, Paula worked within the energy sector, developing small hydroelectric plants in Antioquia, Colombia. Paula has experience with sustainable projects such as: environmental education, carbon footprint calculation and research on the impacts of climate change on high mountain ecosystems water supply in Natural National Park Los Nevados, Colombia.
Paula is an Environmental Engineer from EIA University, holds a Master’s degree in Hydro Science & Engineering from the Technische Universität Dresden, Germany and an Advanced International Training Program “Climate Change – Mitigation and Adaptation”, Sweden.

As Director of the Executive Office, Pauline is responsible for liaising with the Bloomberg Philanthropies environment team on projects and activities related to C40 and Michael Bloomberg’s position as C40 Board President.
Pauline initially joined C40 as Project Manager for the Women4Climate Tech Challenge, a global competition designed to promote and support innovation and climate solutions from women in the tech community. She started her career in e-commerce, where she worked as a localisation and operations manager for six years, before taking part in the On Purpose leadership programme to transition her career into the environmental impact sector.
She since worked with sustainability leader and carpet manufacturer Interface, designing and implementing circular solutions to reduce waste, and developed a new portfolio of services for the innovation foundation Nesta.

Pedro Bastos is the Policy Manager for Zero Emission Vehicles at C40. His primary focus is the Laneshift program, which aims to reimagine medium- and heavy-duty shipping vehicles and optimize their travel routes for environmental sustainability in six cities across Latin America: Rio, Curitiba, Mexico City, Quito, Bogotá, and Medellín.
Pedro is an urban planner with extensive experience in transportation, zero-emission technologies, and public policies. Over the last decade, he has worked at the Institute for Transportation and Development Policy (ITDP) and completed successful consultancy projects for both the public and private sectors. Pedro holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Public Administration, as well as a Master’s and PhD in Urban Planning from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.

Pedro Ribeiro is C40’s Head of Water Programmes. He supports a network of global cities to identify, plan and implement projects to increase resilience to urban flooding impacts. The network is focused on four work streams: Governance and Holistic Water Management; Measuring and Monitoring Urban Floods; Flood Operations and Response; and Flood Reduction.
Before joining C40, Pedro worked at the Rio de Janeiro Resilience Office, where he worked on the development of Rio Resilience Strategy. In Rio’s Resilience Office, Pedro focused on the city’s urban climate vulnerabilities including Heat Waves, Drought, and Floods. Pedro was responsible for leading initiatives on Heat Waves, developing the first municipal urban heat map, and the Urban Water Resilience, developing Rio de Janeiro’s rainwater harvesting potential analysis (Reuse Map).
Pedro holds an environmental sciences degree at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro State, with a post-graduate degree in Ecological Landscape at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica of Rio de Janeiro.

Pegah is responsible for the C40 Healthy and Efficient Buildings Program, an innovative approach aimed at supporting cities to develop and implement building decarbonization actions that increase the health of their occupants, reduce energy use and create green jobs.
Pegah previously managed C40 Municipal Buildings Efficiency Network, supported cities in driving energy efficiency in their municipal assets, as well as provided cities with technical assistance on building energy data analysis that would inform and support ambitious policies. In addition, Pegah evaluated building energy efficiency scenarios in C40 Cities Climate Action Plans and produced building energy data-related research pieces for C40 Knowledge Hub.
Prior to joining C40, Pegah worked for Siemens Global Centre of Competence for Cities as an Infrastructure Researcher. There Pegah worked on projects including C40’s Air Quality Research, Digitalization and Industry 4.0 study, and an infrastructure overview project with Myanmar. Pegah is also an experienced web and graphic designer with data visualisation and communication expertise. Pegah holds a Masters’s in Smart Cities and Urban Analytics from University College London and a BA in Architectural Engineering from Azad Tehran, Iran. She speaks Persian and English.
As Senior Manager within the Governance and Executive Engagement team, Peggy’s role is to ensure that C40 produces the highest standards of materials for C40 leadership, partners and funders. Prior to C40, Peggy held a wide variety of roles in refugee-related non-profits in the UK and Greece, where she brought her experience in freelance writing and editing in the legal and academic fields to the humanitarian sector. Peggy has an MA in Latin American Studies (with an emphasis on indigenous rights and human rights) and is about to complete an MA in Convergent Journalism. She is currently learning German and the art of ceramics.

Pius joined C40 as Mayor Aki-Sawyerr’s Head of Coordination in the Co-Chair’s Office in April 2024. He undertakes this connecting role between C40, London and the Freetown Mayor’s Office, and is responsible for all external engagements for the co-chair, all internal and external briefings to the co-chair and her wider team and feedback to C40 teams.
He comes with more than 12 years of experience working at government offices to support shaping and implementing their vision on sectors like waste management and the climate; investing in and managing businesses around green and waste management technologies and services; and working in the INGO sector in coordination and leadership positions. Pius has developed significant experience of working with municipal governments, with senior officials and managing micro, meso, and macro projects based on cities’ needs.
He has worked with a diversity of donors through the coordination of numerous consulting assignments and projects funded by the multilateral and UN-funding agencies including the World Bank Group, AfDB, GIZ, FCDO, JICA, UNICEF, USAID, and other public and private sector clients including various ministries and government agencies.

Pongsatorn is C40’s City Advisor, Breathe Cities, Bangkok. He is a part of the Breathe Cities Regional Team and the ESEAO team to advise and support Bangkok in implementing Breathe Cities on the ground to deliver ambitious priority air quality actions to meet clean air goals.
Prior to joining C40, Pongsatorn was an Advisor at GIZ (Thailand) where he worked on climate change mitigation in the transport sector by providing technical support for fuel economy policies and the electric vehicle roadmap for the Thai government. From 2021 to 2023, he worked as Chief of Staff to the Prime Ministerial candidate of the Move Forward Party in Thailand.
Pongsatorn is living in Bangkok with his wife, Thun, and raising a one-year-old Blenheim Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy named Zuko

Priyanka serves as Project Officer for C40’s Reinventing Cities Programme within the Urban Planning and Design team. She has a background in Sustainable Design and holds an MSc in Environmental Design and Engineering from University College London. Prior to joining C40, she worked as a Sustainability Consultant, where she collaborated with design teams to integrate passive design strategies as well as renewable technologies into building designs.
Alongside her previous role, Priyanka worked as a Community Engagement Officer at Energy Garden, where she supported community groups in South London to deliver resilient projects such as community gardens to grow food and enhance biodiversity within London Overground Stations.

Ragene (or Jean) is the Inclusive Climate Action and Engagement Senior Manager for the UKAID CAI Programme in Southeast Asia. In this role, she facilitates the adoption of inclusive, fair, and just approaches and transformational action of cities in the region.
Prior to C40, Jean served as an urban researcher and development consultant. She has worked on urban informality, the climate-migration nexus, women and gender in climate adaptation, local economic development, and disaster rehabilitation with various UN agencies (including UN Women, IOM, UN-Habitat, and UNDP) and other international groups. Jean has published and presented various works about urban affairs, including feminist cities, urban inequality, care in cities, and public life and spaces.
Jean completed her MA in International Planning and Sustainable Development at the University of Westminster, London, as a Chevening scholar. She has represented the Philippines in professional fellowships and regional workshops and serves as a mentor for aspiring planners and young scholars.
Jean enjoys music, gardening, and cultural crafts.

Rebecca works in the Political Strategy and Leadership Support department and is the C40 Steering Committee Senior Manager responsible for supporting the Office of the C40 Chair by managing the processes of the Steering Committee. Prior to this, Rebecca was the Deputy Managing Director of the political organisation STRING, bringing together European cities and regions for sustainable infrastructure and sustainability. She has also worked for the Swedish/Danish cross-border cooperation the Oresund Committee and has experience in transport planning, strategy and stakeholder management from Newcastle City Council in the UK.
Rebecca’s academic background is in political science, and she has a Master’s degree from Lund University in Sweden and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Northumbria in the UK.

Reka is C40’s Grants and Legal Coordinator. In this role, she supports the team across the grant management cycle, from pre-award reviews to data management and reporting, and she also supports our work on governance and compliance.
She has experience volunteering as a social researcher, where she collected and analysed data to create reports as a fundraising tool for charities. Prior to C40, Reka joined teams such as Clean Air Fund, working on a variety of projects ranging from fundraising to HR and governance.
Reka holds an MSc in Evolutionary Psychology from Brunel University London. She also holds a BA in Psychology from University of Pecs, Hungary.

Richard is C40’s Head of Global Media, responsible for bringing the exciting, innovative and vitally important work of the C40 teams, mayors and cities to a global audience.
Prior to joining C40, he worked as a journalist across TV and radio for the BBC, including as a senior producer on BBC Breakfast and a reporter and newsreader for BBC London. He then moved to the Mayor of London’s press team, taking a lead role on high-profile communications projects including the launch of London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone, hosting the men’s and women’s European Championships and the capital’s response to the pandemic.
Richard is based in London and holds a BA in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Leeds.

Rodolphe serves as Technical Officer for Climate Change Mitigation, within the Measurement and Planning Team. In this role, he works on the greenhouse gas inventories of all cities within the C40 Network, ensuring that they are high quality and fit for use in the Climate Action Planning Programme. Rodolphe transitioned to this role after interning with the C40 Regions/Deadline2020 Team, where he worked on ensuring the continual participation of cities within the C40 network. Prior to joining C40, Rodolphe worked as an academic research assistant in Montreal, studying the effects of agricultural certification in relation to deforestation rates. Rodolphe is a graduate of McGill University, where he received a BA in Urban Geography, Environmental Studies and GIS.

Ruchi is the Senior Events Manager for the C40 x GCoM Joint Program. In this role, Ruchi oversees the seamless execution of world-leading international events that strategically advance the Joint Program’s mission.
With over 15 years of experience, Ruchi began her career at the Clinton Global Initiative before transitioning to Google, where she developed a deep expertise in leveraging events for social impact causes.
Ruchi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Columbia University, Barnard College.
Ryan serves as Senior Technical Manager, Climate Action Planning (Mitigation) within the Measurement and Planning Team. In this role, he supports the delivery of technical assistance to help C40 cities develop greenhouse gas emissions inventories in line with international best practice. This includes the development of further guidance, resources and case studies on data management, inventory development and climate action planning.
Prior to joining C40, Ryan worked with cities at CDP (formerly Carbon Disclosure Project) to help them publicly disclose their climate-related data and connect them with resources to advance their climate planning. There, Ryan led engagement with UK Cities, helping them to use public disclosure as part of their climate emergency response, and providing feedback on their plans and inventories to help build their evidence base for action.
Ryan holds an MSc in Sustainability, specialising in CSR, from the University of Nottingham and a BSc in Accounting and Finance.

Sabareesh serves as the Senior Manager of Climate Action Implementation and Engagements at C40. Prior to this, he was a Senior Associate with the World Resources Institute (WRI) ‘s climate resilience practice, where his primary task was to integrate adaptation and resilience strategies into various development initiatives while also working towards bolstering India’s preparedness to access climate-related funding opportunities.
His professional interests lie at the intersection of urban resilience, climate action financing, and setting up GHG Inventories. Sabareesh has accumulated substantial experience collaborating with esteemed multilateral institutions such as the World Bank, IFC, and numerous Indian state governments. His contributions have notably involved conducting in-depth sectoral analyses on urban management, finance, and urban governance reform initiatives. Sabareesh is also actively mentoring the United Nations SDSN (Sustainable Development Solutions Network) Youth Local Pathways Fellowship Program on a global scale. Moreover, he is a dedicated member of the Global Shaper’s Community, an initiative facilitated by the World Economic Forum, where he collaborates with a network of young professionals on various global initiatives.
Sabareesh holds a Bachelor’s in Architecture from the Faculty of Built Environment and Sustainable Habitat, Sathyabama University and a Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning from CEPT University. He also holds an executive MBA specialising in Business Analytics from NMIMS.

Sachin serves as C40’s Director of Climate Resilience. He oversees C40’s adaptation programmes and activities, including urban heat, water and urban nature.
Previously, Sachin worked in Arup’s International Development and Urban Design Departments for thirteen years. Sachin has a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Mumbai University and a Master’s degree in Urban Design from Harvard University.
